We are now in a period of evolution through Transition investment from Arts Council England and, alongside our collaborations with museums, other organisations and funders, we will be using this time to focus on exploring new sustainable models of working and refreshing our offer.

We will be seeking ways to develop and deliver ideas and programmes that will help transform the sector, unlock investment and support museums to enhance what they do, exceed their ambitions and to ultimately drive positive social change with their communities.

We would like to work in a more democratic way with museums of all sizes and governance, within each pocket of our communities. We will be exploring possibilities to bring our specialist knowledge, experience, integrity, and passion for museums further out into the world.

The remainder of 2023 and in to 2024 is full of prospect and potential for CMP as we navigate our changing landscape for and alongside Cornwall’s incredible network of museums and heritage organisations, as well as with existing and new cultural and wider sector collaborators.

We have numerous other exciting plans for the year ahead:

We will be launching new digital products and resources as part of the legacy work from Citizen Curators and Hireth.

We will be exploring ways to expand on our long-running partnership work with Carefree and Culture Card as well as with Sandra Shakespeare and Black Voices Cornwall.

We are exploring an innovative new collections-focussed collaboration with The Space.

We will be contributing to Oxford University’s digital arts project, ORIGIN.

We will continue to deliver inclusively and innovatively on our existing funding commitments for Safe Access funded by NLHF, the DOORS/READ project funded by Ars Electronica, two multi-faceted strands of work delivering against Cornwall Council’s Cultural Manifesto.

We will continue to deliver our Museum Development Offer through South West Museum Development.
